statisticsI am Alex Edwards, an American student from Tujunga, California on the associate degree program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA. “Management By Statistics” is an excellent course because it has very significant data pertaining to how to effectively manage any activity or business by statistics. In this case, a statistic is a number or amount compared to an earlier number or amount of the same thing.  It can be graphed. Statistics show one what direction production is heading: improving, staying steady, or going down. This information alerts one to determine what steps would work best for increasing or strengthening the production in an area. This course goes further. It also addresses rationalizing or making excuses for a down statistic, which inevitably leads to the downfall of a company. An example of rationalizing a down statistic is “Life is like that” or “It was better last week.” These thoughts neither explain nor solve the down statistic. Ignoring a down statistic will end up in no actual actions being done to improve production and will only pave the way for it to fall even further. The data in this course took the guesswork out of managing a company or business. As an executive, one makes many decisions that affect not only one department but the entire company. This course provides him or her with the tools needed to make the most effective decisions with certainty. He will be making decisions based on actual production trends, and with the knowledge gained in my prior course about conditions and condition formulas, (See my blog Associate Degree: What are you rewarding in your business?) will know the correct handling to better that area’s production. This course has helped me in many ways to improve the management of my business and personal activities. It’s amazing what this tool can provide for people both professionally and personally. I really believe that all employees and executives of a company should be fully trained in management by statistics. If all companies employed this data the country wouldn’t be in a depression.  If the national administration would manage by statistics, the economy of the nation would prosper and continue to prosper. Companies and organizations would hire and promote productive personnel and strengthen those actions that increase production. The citizens would be enveloped in prosperity because they would be productive. Individuals, businesses and nations need this data! With this tool, we can go show the economy who’s boss!
