apprenticeshipI am Joe Huang, a Taiwanese student from Taipei on the Associate Degree Program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA. I am writing about my experience on the “Handling the Ups and Downs in Life” apprenticeship. I was an amazing experience helping people, who were connected to a suppressive person! I used to think suppression was not so common in every day life, but now I realize that everyone may face it. Therefore, data of how to handle this situation is very important and vital. I worked with two students. One was suppressed by a classmate who kept saying bad words and putting him down. The other was getting some suppression from his mom who gave him lots of pressure. In this apprenticeship, I helped them to identify what was suppression and who was suppressing them. Finally, I helped them to handle the situation, which brightened up the students. Using a simple procedure that I learned in this “Handling the Ups and Downs in Life” course, I found out that all I needed to do to help them was follow the steps which resulted in relief for each of the students I was working with. From my observations, there are people who become ill or repeatedly make mistakes. According to this course, the source of those occurrences is suppression.  Before, I assumed illnesses or mistakes to be just natural happenings, but from now on, I know better. I know what they represent and that the simple procedure I studied can remedy it. Now, I have confident that I can help a person who is being suppressed. I have also noticed that some politicians make mistakes. I think they must be experiencing suppression from some source(s) (for example, other politicians or mass media).  Since they are suppressed, their decision-making will be impaired. What the society needs is to better educate the people about suppression, its effects and how to handle it so that we can all live better. To sum up, there are lots of suppressed people in the society around us, what we need to do is to show them how to handle their suppression, and then lots of stupid mistakes and illnesses will disappear. Now that I’ve applied this technology of handling suppression, and understand it, now what I can do is apply it to people around me because every little drop can make the society better.
