Career Education – The Degree Program in Administration

and Management

So you’re thinking about going to college and you’re checking out different degrees and campuses.

Perhaps one degree option you haven’t considered is Administration and Management. It’s not always at the top of the ‘popular’ degree choices, yet it is one of the most important choices, if you are interested in business.

According to the Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy, the number one reason why businesses — large and small — fail is lack of administration and management skills.

This is very evident in our current economic crisis. And you can see it in businesses where the owner is talented in some activity — he or she is a doctor or an engineer, perhaps an artisan, an electrician or fashion designer — but they don’t have the skill to run the business. They’re really good at what they do. They start the business full of hope and enthusiasm, but it fails because they don’t have administration and management know-how.

So if you are interested in business — being a manager or starting your own company — take another look at this degree. All successful business people have good management skills. They know how to run the company, not just how to make the product or deliver the service.

“The Hubbard College is a very effective college and I know this from personal experience. I’ve been to a university before. When you sit listening to somebody talk for an hour or two, you tend to miss a lot. Here you sit down with your material and study it. You’re either reading or listening to the lectures on tape, so you can go at your own pace.

“If you miss something you have it right there. You don’t have to hope that you’ll remember it three days from now. The study technology that we use here actually ensures that you know what you’re studying – 100%. You really get a thorough understanding of what you’re studying.

“If you’re looking to improve yourself or improve your ability to run a business or manage a group, this is the place to go. What you learn here works — it’s proven.

“When you’re done with your course you go out to your Apprenticeship site and you get to apply it in a real business. You’ll see right there and then that it works, unlike a traditional school where you learn theory only, and you hope you get it.”
