I am Bassam El Houssami, a Lebanese student from Beirut, Lebanon on the Associate Degree Program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA. I have just completed the “Marketing” course. Marketing has finally made sense to me. Marketing creates want in the public to acquire a product. Marketing has long been misunderstood and confused with promotion and public relations. What is marketing? Marketing is the conceiving and packaging and the moving (selling) of a specific product into public hands. In other words, it is the way you prepare, take to and place on the market a certain product that will in return obtain maximum potential return. How do you measure marketing success? RESPONSE is the ultimate result a marketing person is seeking to achieve from his or her marketing actions. From this course, I realized how marketing campaigns can cost millions of dollars and yet barely recoup the cost of the campaign. Why arenít the campaigns creating response? Marketing materials not created from surveys of one’s target public will almost certainly fail every time unless “you are lucky.” Stop investing thousands of dollars in luck, and start spending on survey-based marketing! Included in this same course, were insights into how to properly design ads, so that they are effective. I can keep writing on how good this course is and how effective it will make your marketing actions. However, I will stop here and say “This is the way to marketing success!” I am currently on my final degree course “How to Increase Want for Your Products through Effective Sales Techniques.” I am eager to graduate and begin my consultant level training.
